Here are the main things I wanted to emphasise: in the second point the word I was looking for was compatible, to find or discern a form of service that is compatible with who you are as a person as well as the primary responsibilities that you have in front of you.

And in the final point, gratuitous - there's a degree to which service will never be gratuitous.
