A new deal just got signed between game studios and SAG-AFTRA regarding the use of AI in video games and while some say it's a win for actors, it actually opens the door for more AI in gaming.

There has been a strike going on for the last year between the union and game studios because studios are wanting to continue to use emerging AI in games. Voice actors have objected because it will ultimately replace them in their job. Now a deal has been reached that means gaming studios can continue to use AI just so long as the actors are compensated accordingly. This is bad for gamers who don’t want AI taking over the industry because it grants a legal avenue for it to take over.
