I recently decided to rewatch Serial Experiments Lain. I first watched it around 8 years ago and remembered it being good, but rewatching it, I was struck by how prescient this show from 1998 was. Lain indeed predicts a lot of the problems we have in the modern era in 2025.

Lain is about a young Japanese girl navigating through adolescence, troubled relationships, and her interactions with “the Wired,” a virtual reality parallel to the Internet.
