Splicing & Dipping The Eye

6/10/2025 Today I was at my marina slicing my mooring lines directly to the dock cleats. This will prove more convenient, and eliminate much of the extra line that I had coiled to get out of the way. This eliminated the potential for a tripping hazard and also reduced the time untying and re-tying when I left and re-entered the my slip. I finish the video with a nautical technique called “Dipping the Eye,” which is used when sharing a dock cleat or bollard with another boat.
