1 Samuel 6, 7, & 8 –You will die if you look at the Ark of the Covenant. Only Aaron could do so.2023

And He struck down some of the men of Beth-shemesh because they had looked into the ark of the LORD. He struck down of all the people, 50,070 men, and the people mourned because the LORD had struck the people with a great slaughter.

The Israelites at Beth-shemesh handled the Ark carelessly and some of them looked into it. They were warned never to look upon these things.

Num. 4:17-20 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 18“Do not let the tribe of the families of the Kohathites be cut off from among the Levites. 19“But do this to them that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy objects: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign each of them to his work and to his load; 20but they shall not go in to see the holy objects even for a moment, lest they die.”

Because of this, Yah killed everyone in the town. Even when the Ark was being transported, only Aaron could look upon it.

Num. 4:4-6 “This is the work of the descendants of Kohath in the tent of meeting, concerning the most holy things. 5“When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it; 6and they shall lay a covering of porpoise skin on it, and shall spread over it a cloth of pure blue, and shall insert its poles.
