Nunholy is an action-packed roguelike game developed by Chowbie, released on January 17, 2025, for PC, Linux, macOS, and Steam Deck. Set in a gothic fantasy world overrun by vampires, players control one of three half-vampire nuns—Preiya, Marie, or Sain—each with unique combat styles and weapons (melee gunaxe, ranged firearms, or dual blades). The goal is to hunt vampires, from Knights to Dukes, and ultimately defeat the Vampire Queen by exploring dungeons, battling waves of enemies, and facing powerful bosses. Players can absorb slain vampires’ powers to gain abilities or sell them for gear upgrades, blending holy and vampiric powers for strategic customization. The game features a Hades-inspired gameplay loop with permanent upgrades, NPC interactions (merchants, witches, etc.), and a manga-style aesthetic with some erotic elements, though it’s not pornographic. Runs last under an hour, and the game is noted for its accessible, casual difficulty, taking about 4-6 hours to complete the main story. It has an 89% positive rating on Steam from over 3,500 reviews but is criticized for limited content and simplistic combat.
