The Outer Wilds 2 is $80 and Xbox Wants it to FAIL For THIS Reason...

The Outer Wilds 2 was front and center at the Xbox Games Showcase and will serve as the game to usher Microsoft into the $80 AAA space. For a multitude of reasons this isn't the game to launch this program with, if they want to succeed. But based on their business strategy recently, it's the perfect game to use as a test case to see how the market responds and how quickly they can pivot to only caring about Game Pass and nothing else.
