Rogue actors within the FBI issue NSLs that threaten people with arrest if they tell innocent people that they are being investigated by the government for bogus and made up crimes. It allows for severe defamation of the subjects with no way to state their innocence or get due process.
This needs to change and apply more transparency and stricter guidelines to the use of gag orders and NSLs in general.

This isn’t conspiracy—it’s codified in U.S. law. When D.C. mandates backdoors but criminalizes transparency, it’s not about safety—it’s about unaccountable power. Innovation flees, privacy dies, and trust evaporates. Telegram dodged a bullet avoiding this regulatory trap, but the real issue is systemic: agencies weaponize secrecy to bypass oversight while taxpayers fund their overreach.
