Imaginary

Trying to operate with the mind,
to live according to logic and reason —
how it should be
and not how it is;

attempting to control,
manage,
manipulate,
and dictate

is futile.

Living out of the imaginary

is futile.

Maintaining castles
built of sand
requires a lot of effort.

Everything seems to try to destroy them,
but that is just the nature of the imaginary —
it is fleeting,
like a dream.

We imagine something.
We dream.
We build our lives
on a vision.

This works for a while —
sometimes for years,
decades
or even hundreds
or thousands of years.

But eventually,
the imaginary dissolves
and evaporates
like a dream.

It just goes away.
And what’s left?

Real.

The absolutely undeniable Real—
the foundation,
the base,
the ground of being—
just Being.

Not what should be,
but what is.
