2 Corinthians 11:16-12:7

Picking up at verse 16 in 2 Corinthians 11, there had been some foolish thinking and boasting by the Corinthian saints as to what they had been suffering. Paul does not agree with their thinking: he lists the few things they have suffered, and then asks them to allow him to foolishly boast of what he has suffered (and continues to suffer). It is an overwhelming list of events; yet he would not glory of himself. In chapter 12 Paul writes that 'a thorn in the flesh' was given him. Many find it hard to accept the reality of Paul's 'thorn in the flesh' and resort to speculation. Acts 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
