According to ibn Ezra, the placing of each of the vowels is deliberate and can teach you something about its pronunciation, that there is a phonetic code in the Hebrew vowels that the Masoretes set down. In this video I discuss proper pronunciation of the ancient vowel Hebrew system and how it differs from modern Hebrew.

Many writings exist which help us in piecing together the Hebrew language which has changed much since the exile in 70 AD. Examples from the Greek Septuagint and Vulgate are also given as support. In this video I go through a fascinating code the reads like a cipher. When you understand the code, it shows you where the sound is coming from in the mouth. So while these dots represent the sound, according to ibn Ezra they also represent the location of articulation and mouth position.
