Of all the versions of Dracula since Lugosi's original, the version that kept faith with Bram Stoker's novel was Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula.
With only a few alterations to the story, Coppola crafted a film that followed the narrative story as closely as possible--even the epistolary elements. It met with tepid reviews at the time, but upon review, this version provides the strangest and creepiest Dracula ever.
But, Stoker's vision never stopped inspiring writers, and it has spawned an entire century of vampires to discover.
