Island of Terror ‧ ( Horror / Sci-fi ) - 1966

An isolated island community, is threatened by genetically engineered tentacled 'silicate' creatures. Which were created as a means to cure cancer
However the experiment go's wrong as they start to kill, animals and the population of the island, by liquefying and digesting their bones.
The island's Doctor seeks the help of two experts,from the main land.
Can they defeat the creatures?

The idea for the film came when the producer Richard Gordon read Gerry Fernback's screenplay 'The Night the Silicates Came'. Gordon partnered with Tom Blakey of Planet Films.
This film is often mistaken as a Amicus production,
