Latinos Cry About ICE Raids at their Protests But Won't Promote Responsible Documentation

I'm calling out a troubling trend within the Latino community: the normalization and defense of irresponsibility, particularly regarding immigration documentation. I argue that while youthful ignorance is understandable, widespread adult disregard for legal responsibilities damages the community’s long-term image. This behavior contributes to negative stereotypes and increases the risk of innocent individuals, especially children, being unfairly judged or ridiculed. The Latino community must promote accountability and self-respect rather than enabling actions that harm its reputation and future.
