Through the Bible in 7 hours session 2

Good morning and welcome to session 2 of Through the Bible in 7 hours.

So to recap last week, we talked about the student, which is us. We went over how we receive God’s Spirit, how we have to hear and believe.

The second key is the scripture and how it was inspired by God and Preserved in copies. We also discussed how the different versions of the Bible are corrupted and that the one true version is the KJV.

Now today we are going to talk about the third key which is “the study” and the fourth key which is “the secret”.

But first, let’s pray.....

What is study?

It implies work right?

We can gain some knowledge from just reading the Bible, but if we really, truly want to understand what we have been given by God, we really need to study.

You can’t just go to church and listen to a preacher, you can’t just come here and listen to a podcast, trust me, I don’t know everything. You have got to study this stuff on your own. This definitely helps, but studying is going to set you apart from other people in knowledge. You won’t fully understand the scripture until you make yourself sit down and actually study it for what it says.

So when reading the Bible, there are three questions that we need to answer or identify.

1. Who is speaking

2. To whom is it written or spoken

3. When was it written or spoken

Of course, we are going to start with the first one and work our way through the three of them.

So, who is speaking...

For that, let’s start at

[Mat 4:1-4 KJV] 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

So why am I pointing this out? well look with me at

[Deu 8:3 KJV] 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

See, the devil was trying to tell Jesus that he could give him bread to survive and left out the part that says, “but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”

The devil will leave stuff out of scripture to get people to believe what he is saying applies. But look who is talking here, it is the devil. that’s why the scripture here looks contradictory. Who is talking makes a massive difference. Let’s get another, let's look at

[Gen 2:16-17 KJV] 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Now let’s look at Genesis 3:1-6 and see who is speaking and if it is the same...

[Gen 3:1-6 KJV] 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Do you see the difference here? Do you see that when the devil talks he is lying or he is just outright removing things are changing things?

Let’s look at one more. let’s turn to Romans 11

[Rom 11:13-15 KJV] 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation [them which are] my flesh, and might save some of them. 15 For if the casting away of them [be] the reconciling of the world, what [shall] the receiving [of them be], but life from the dead?

What Paul is saying here is that you have to know who is speaking to you. If you are following man’s interpreting of the Word then you are in the wrong. You have to follow the Word itself. Following man is not going to get you anywhere, it’s only through the word of God that we find the truth.

Now that we have covered who is speaking, let’s go on to the second question.

To whom are the words written or spoken.

Let’s look at 2 Chronicles 7

[2Ch 7:14 KJV] 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Who are God’s people?

Let’s look at

[Exo 3:10 KJV] 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

[1Sa 2:29 KJV] 29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded [in my] habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

I think that covers who God’s people are at that time. It is Israel. It is the Hebrews. It is the Jews. It isn’t the Gentiles. The Gentiles are still not welcome to be God’s people.

[Mat 15:21-24 KJV] 21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Let’s go on to Ephesians chapter 1

[Eph 1:1-6 KJV] 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace [be] to you, and peace, from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

And last but not least, 1 Corinthians 10

[1Co 10:31-33 KJV] 31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 33 Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of many, that they may be saved.

This is Paul speaking and he is speaking to all men. There is no more separation. The Gentiles are just as important as the Jews now. It is so important to understand this!

[Rom 11:11 KJV] 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but [rather] through their fall salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Let’s carry on and get to the WHEN. When were the words spoken?

Turn with me to Luke 6...

[Luk 9:6 KJV] 6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

Now we know that this was them going to the houses of the Jews and only the Jews. You say, “how do we know this?”. Well look down toward the end of the chapter at verse 44

[Luk 9:6, 44-45 KJV] 6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. ... 44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. 45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

See this is before the crucifixion. We know that they wouldn’t have been sent out to the gentiles because that would have been a sin. It was a sin if they were to talk to the Gentiles before the day of the damascus awakening. Ha I just made that up. I think I’m going to use that. I like it.

Now let’s look at matthew 10

[Mat 10:5-7 KJV] 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Uh oh, it looks like I may be right in that they weren’t to talk to anyone except the Jews....

[Mat 15:24 KJV] 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

I’d say that’s pretty clear wouldn’t you?

Now let’s look at Romans 6

[Rom 6:14 KJV] 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

We are under grace! We aren’t under the law! We don’t have to follow the Law to a T like the jews did! We are forgiven just by believing! Now is the time to be alive!

Now, the fourth key is the secret.

This is the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest.

[Rom 11:25 KJV] 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

[Rom 16:25-26 KJV] 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

[Eph 3:3 KJV] 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

This fourth key you need to keep in mind whenever you are studying. It is very important that you remember that the mystery isn’t know to anyone until it is made known to Paul. Israel has fallen and the Gentiles are now risen. We are made equal in order for Israel to be jealous.

Thank you for joining me today. There were a few more things in this particular session, but there is no way I would have been able to get through this session today if I had kept them in.
