Tears I Never Show

I laugh in rooms where I don’t belong,
Fake a smile and play along.
They see someone who’s standing tall,
But they don’t see me when I fall.

I keep it all beneath my skin,
A quiet storm I hold within.

These are the tears I never show,
The ones I cry when I’m alone.
They fall like rain inside my chest,
Soft and slow, they never rest.
You may think I’ve let you go…
But these are the tears
I never show.

I pass your street but don’t turn in,
Still hear your voice in the wind.
I burned your notes, but not your name—
It lingers on in silent flame.

I wish you knew the pain I hide,
But I just smile and say, "I’m fine."

These are the tears I never show,
The ones that come and never go.
They stain my pillow every night,
While no one’s there to hold me tight.
You may have left, but you don’t know…
These are the tears
I never show.

You took your love, you took your light,
And left me drowning out of sight.

These are the tears I never show,
A secret ache that still won’t go.
You see my strength, but not the cost—
I’m just a girl who’s feeling lost.
So if you wonder why I’m cold…
It’s all the tears
I never show.
