US pushes NATO for 5% defence spending while Canada fails to hit 2% target

A major NATO meeting has been taking place in Brussels with defence ministers discussing the future of the alliance, while the Americans are pushing the allies to spend more.

Canada is not close to meeting its commitment on defence spending at the current two per cent target. The U.S., meanwhile, is pushing for a new target of five per cent.
