Malta, NY - The New York State Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) released body camera footage on Thursday from an investigation into a fatal trooper-involved shooting in Saratoga County. The incident revolved around the death of 69-year-old David Levine at the State Police barracks on Route 9 in Malta back in April.

On April 9 around 1:45 p.m., troopers found Levine in the barracks parking lot armed with a rifle after gunfire had been heard outside the station. After ignoring commands to drop his weapon, Levine allegedly aimed his gun at a trooper, resulting in multiple officers firing and striking the Malta man.

Levine was taken to an area hospital, where he was declared dead. No one else was injured in the altercation, State Police reported.
