The National Emergency Management Agency called it an “unprecedented flood.” Most alarming is that this isn’t even the peak of the rainy season. #Canada One of the most severe wildfire seasons in recent years has struck Canada. Three provinces have undergone large-scale evacuations. More than 26,000 people were forced to leave their homes. Smoke from the fires drastically reduced air quality not only in Canada but also in several U.S. states. North Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana reported “unhealthy” air. A large smoke plume crossed the Atlantic and reached Europe on June 1. #USA On May 30, a tornado of at least EF2 intensity suddenly hit Washington County, Kentucky. Severe storms — let alone tornadoes — were not forecasted for that day, and the warning came only minutes before impact. One person died and seven were injured due to the tornado. On the evening of May 28, a powerful supercell storm hit Austin, the capital of Texas, causing widespread destruction. On June 1, a violent storm struck the densely populated Dallas–Fort Worth area in North Texas, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and hail up to 7 cm in diameter. #Tornadoes On May 28, a tornado in Artik, Armenia, ripped roofs off houses and uprooted trees — a rare event for the Shirak region. On May 29, residents of Kalo Chorio in Larnaca District, Cyprus, witnessed a rare tornado that caused damage to property. That same day in Gazipaşa, Antalya Province, Türkiye, a waterspout formed at sea and quickly moved inland, destroying around 70 greenhouses, ripping off roofs, and toppling trees and power lines. On May 30, a giant tornado appeared over Chernihiv, Ukraine. Fortunately, it did not touch down, so no damage occurred. On March 28, a devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck central Myanmar, shaking much of Southeast Asia — including Thailand, China, India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. The epicenter was near Mandalay, a city with over 1 million residents. The quake's hypocenter lay just 10 km below the surface, making the seismic shock extremely powerful. In central and northwestern Myanmar, over 10,000 buildings were either destroyed or severely damaged. Roads and bridges collapsed, temples, mosques, and centuries-old historic monuments crumbled. Mandalay International Airport was shut down after its control tower collapsed. Power and phone lines went completely dead. Train tracks twisted like they were made of plasticine. Landslides cut off regions from the outside world. All this made it extremely difficult — or even impossible — for rescuers and humanitarian aid to reach affected areas in time. With limited specialized equipment, both rescue workers and relatives of those trapped in the rubble had to dig by hand, enduring extreme heat above 40°C and a lack of food and water. As of April 2, official figures report 3,003 dead and over 4,600 injured. However, the true scale of devastation and loss of life may be much higher. Words cannot fully capture the horror unfolding in the region. With hospitals destroyed, medics treated the wounded out in the open. Bodies trapped under debris began decomposing in the heat. The earthquake has worsened an already dire humanitarian crisis in Myanmar. This quake ranks among the most powerful in the country's history over the past century and has drawn expert attention due to its unusual characteristics. It triggered a rupture up to 400 km long along the Sagaing Fault, which runs north to south through Myanmar. The rupture's propagation speed was comparable to that of a supersonic jet. A seismologist from the Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences classified this event as a "supershear" earthquake — an extremely rare type in which rupture energy moves through the ground at exceptional speed. Supershear effects concentrate seismic energy ahead of the rupture, amplifying destruction even far from the epicenter. Proof of this came in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, located nearly 1,000 km away. A 30-story building under construction collapsed, killing at least 22 people and trapping over 70 under the debris. However, what raises the greatest concern is the activation of the Siberian Plume — a massive stream of magma rising from deep within the Earth. In the city of Águilas, 70 mm of rain fell in just one hour. In Madrid, continuous rainfall made March 2025 the wettest March on record. #Malaysia Starting March 19, relentless heavy rains hit the southern state of Johor. In six districts, river levels rose above danger thresholds, causing flash floods. In Kampung Pasir Tebrau, water rose so high that only rooftops remained visible. In Krasnoyarsk on March 21, the nighttime temperature was 22°C above the climatic norm! Local news and social media confirm: such changes are happening for the first time, and even longtime residents admit they’ve never seen anything like this. The regions of Murcia, Andalusia, and Valencia recorded record rainfall, reaching up to 258 L/m² in Castellón province. In Lorca, one person died while attempting to drive through a flooded riverbed. In Soria, around 500 vehicles were stranded. Japan On February 26, a wildfire broke out in the city of Ofunato, engulfing 2,100 hectares. Some areas received up to 500 mm of rainfall in just three days, leading to record-breaking floods. - Several ports in the region, including Port Hedland — one of the world’s largest iron ore export hubs — were forced to shut down. - The storm caused extensive damage to infrastructure, uprooted hundreds of trees, destroyed buildings, and severely impacted agriculture. Saudi Arabia Starting February 14, a severe storm with hail caused a sudden cold snap in western Saudi Arabia. - Heavy rains triggered flooding, while strong winds stirred up dust and sand. Waves in the Red Sea reached heights of up to 2 meters. - In the city of Taif, hailstorms created rushing ice-filled rivers. - In the capital, Riyadh, more than 6,500 emergency workers and 1,800 vehicles were deployed to respond to the crisis. United States - February 13: An atmospheric river hit California, bringing torrential rain, thunderstorms, and hurricane-force winds. Today, large cities are often located in their giant calderas. Sakurajima volcano is located within the Aira Caldera, one of the most dangerous supervolcanoes on the planet. On January 20, Japan's Meteorological Agency reported increased volcanic activity. Several explosive eruptions occurred before the end of the month, with ash plumes rising up to 2,700 meters above the crater and large volcanic rock fragments flying up to 1,300 meters away. On February 5, an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 was recorded near the Italian supervolcano Campi Flegrei, just outside its volcanic caldera. The earthquake's hypocenter was at a depth of about 2 km. Over the course of five weeks, 281 earthquakes with magnitudes of up to 3.3 were recorded in the region, indicating increased seismic activity. Concerns are growing over the state of this volcanic caldera because nearly half a million people live in the red zone, directly adjacent to the volcano. This surge in volcanic activity can be explained by several factors: 1. External Cosmic Influence on Earth's Core – This adds energy to the core, which, when converted to heat, increases mantle temperatures, makes magma more fluid, enhances the flow of endogenous heat toward the surface, and creates new magma chambers. 2. Pollution of the World's Oceans with Plastic – The ocean can no longer efficiently dissipate heat from the Earth's interior, leading to increased accumulation of internal planetary energy.
