Rcb beat pbks in the final of ipl25

The Final Match of Men’s Tata IPL Edition 2025 was played between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium Ahmedabad on 3rd June, 2025. In this match Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs. In this match Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru while batting first scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 191 runs to Punjab Kings to win. In reply Punjab Kings could score only 184 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and lost the final match by just 6 runs.
While batting first Royal Challengers Bengaluru started very well with both openers Philip Salt and Virat Kohli going on with great guns and added quickfire 18 runs in 1.4 overs.
Philip Salt after scoring superb 16 runs from 9 balls hitting 2 fours and one six was first to go out caught by Shreyas Iyer of the bowling of Kayle Jamieson.
Then Virat Kohli with Mayank Agarawal added 38 runs from 28 balls for the second wicket and consolidated the innings. Mayank Agarawal was second wicket to fall caught by Arshdeep Singh of the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal after scoring 24 runs from 18 balls hitting 2 fours and 1 six.
Virat Kohli continued his good batting and with Rajat Patidar added crucial 40 runs from 27 balls for the third wicket. But Rajat Patidar was out LBW to Kyle Jamieson contributing quickfire 26 runs from 16 balls hitting 1 four and two sixes.
Virat Kohli played very well and was fourth wicket to fall. Virat Kohli contributed 43 runs from 35 balls hitting 3 fours. He was caught and bold by Azmatullah Omarzai.
Then Jitesh Sharma with Liam Livingstone played well and further consolidated the innings. They added quickfire 36 runs from 12 balls for the fifth wicket. Kayle Jamieson sent back Liam Livingstone after scoring 25 runs from 15 balls which included 2 sixes. He was LBW to Kayle Jamieson.
Jitesh Sharma played well and contributed 24 runs from 10 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 towering sixes. Jitesh Sharma was bold by Vijaykumar Vyshak.
Romario Shephered played a cameo of 17 runs from 9 balls hitting 1 four and 1 six. He was out LBW to Arshdeep Singh on the second ball of the last over of the innings. Arshdeep Singh bold superbly the last over of the match and took 3 wickets by giving only 3 runs.
On fourth ball of the over Arshdeep Singh took the wicket of Krunal Pandya caught by Shreyas Iyer and on the last ball of the same over he took the wicket of Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught by Priyansh Arya. Yash Dayal remaind not out on one run.
For Punjab Kings Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets each. One wicket each was taken by Azmatullah Omarzai, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yuzvendra Chahal.
RCB played magnificiently and scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 191 runs to Punjab to win.
While chasing the target Punjab Kings batted superbly and got brilliant start from their openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh who added 43 runs in 4.6 overs for the first wicket.
Priyansh Arya was first to go out caught brilliantly by Philip Salt of the bowling of Josh Hazlewood after scoring quickfire 24 runs from 19 balls hitting four fours.
Then Prabhsimran Singh with Josh Inglis batted with caution and aggression and added 29 runs from 21 balls for the second wicket and laid the solid foundation for Punjab to win.
Prabhsimran Singh was second wicket to fall after scoring quickfire 26 runs from 22 balls hitting 2 sixes. He was caught by Bhuvneshwar Kumar of the bowling of Krunal Pandya. He was out at the score of 72 runs in 8.3 overs.
But on the fourth ball of very next ninth over Romario Shephered got the big wicket of captain Shreyas Iyer and infact sealed the match for RCB. Shreyas Iyer was out very cheaply scoring only 1 run from 2 balls he faced and was caught by Jitesh Sharma.
Krunal Pandya bowled very beautifully and took 2 main wickets of Punjab by conceeding only 17 runs in his four overs which put a break on scoring in the middle overs.
Krunal Pandya also took the wicket of in form Josh Inglis caught at the boundry line by Liam Livingstone and was fourth wicket to fall. He scored valuable 39 runs from 23 balls hitting 1 four and 4 sixes. At this stage Punjab were in dire consequences at 98 runs for 4 wickets in 12.1 overs.
Then Shashank Singh with Nehal Wadhera played magnificently and tried to consolidate the innings.They added 38 runs from 25 balls for the fifth wicket and brought Punjab back on the track.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed Nehal Wadhera caught by Krunal Pandya. He played a gem of innings of 15 runs from 18 balls hitting 1 six. Nehal Wadhera fell at the score of 136 runs in 16.2 overs.
Then Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the wicket of Marcus Stoinis on the fourth ball of the same over. Marcus Stoinis hit first ball six and on the very next ball was caught by Yash Dayal. Punjab were 142 runs for six wickets in 16.4 overs and were at the brink of loosing the finals.
On the second ball of the next over Azmatullah Omarzai also got out at the score of 145 runs in 17.2 overs and left Punjab in dire consequences. At his stage Punjab were in need of 46 runs from 16 balls.
Then Shashank Singh played a blinder of innings and tried his best to achieve the target but fell short just by one hit of six runs. He played unbelievable innings of 61 runs from 30 balls hitting 3 fours and 6 sixes and remained not out but unfortunately ended up on loosing side.
Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets each. One wicket each was taken by Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood and Romario Shephered.
Punjab Kings scored 184 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and lost the final match of IPL edition 2025 by 6 runs only.
Virat Kohli was very emotional and tears of joy came out after the match. He really was deserving this victory. Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally ended their 17-year-long wait to get their hands on the coveted IPL trophy in 2025.
