'Civil War' was Extremely Mid (reupload)

While it had potential, Alex Garland(he is British...)'s "Civil War" failed to make any poignant points about American Society, the issues we face, or even greater commentary on the price of war or the value of Human Life. And while the movie could have been great, it essentially ended up being Journo slop. Now look, there's nothing wrong with wanting to make a movie about journalists. Some would even like that kind of movie, I'm sure. But don't thrill us with the prospect of a big budget, emotionally moving thrill ride, if you're essentially going to give us Journalist Road Trip: The Movie. All of the actions of the journalists are by their own words, very meaningless in terms of the greater conflict. It's essentially Coup porn for those that want to see it. And yes, Offerman is very obviously supposed to be Trump. This movie sucked so bad I had a 0% chance of seeing "Warfare", even if it was the greatest movie of all time. Civil War gets a hard 6/10, and that's being generous.

Looking back I think Garland did the best he could have. We shouldn't REALLY expect a Brit to know what America is all about, anyway.
