Running a Budget Rifle (Diamondback) Until Something Goes Wrong

To be fair to Diamondback, they were very responsive when I brought up this issue. It is far better to equip yourself with a budget rifle that will 'do the job' versus buying a gucci rifle and going into debt.

Since this video was filmed, I have removed the flashlight from the rail, added thread lock, and tightened all available bolts as far as they will go - without stripping. We have yet to have another issue.

This rifle was also very accurate. Probably more accurate than our benched shooter. Just take care of the barrel. If you get a budget rifle like this, assuming the bolt is HP/MP Inspected, and everything is in spec, the only major difference will be that you don't have a chrome lined barrel. Chrome lining dramatically increases the lifespan of your barrel, however, as a casual shooter, it's possible you will never reach such a round count anyway.

Know your equipment, practice with your sights, and take care of your stuff. This strategy will serve you well in nearly all cases.
