Stop Saying Gringo Comes from Green Go!

People repeating common false facts is way too common is real life, we don't need to just allow it on the Internet. If you have said this to someone, stop. Don't repeat silly stories that obviously aren't true, and certainly don't correct people who are using the term correctly and know its etymology if you've not bothered to think critical, use common sense, or look up the history yourself. Obviously it can't come from "green go" or even "green grows" no any relationship to the USA, Mexico or their war. The word was in dictionaries by 1787 at least. Think before you repeat.
