Open-air preaching

Open-air preaching is the public proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ in outdoor settings such as streets, parks, sidewalks, markets, or public events. It is a bold and biblical method of evangelism that dates back to the ministries of the prophets, Jesus Christ, and the apostles, who often preached to crowds in open spaces. The goal of open-air preaching is to reach the lost with the truth of God’s Word, calling people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

This form of ministry is direct, urgent, and unapologetic, often confronting sin, sharing the hope of salvation, and warning of coming judgment. It is driven by love for souls and obedience to Christ’s command to “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15, KJB). While it may be met with opposition or indifference, open-air preaching serves as a powerful witness, planting seeds and shining the light of the gospel in dark places.
