Plot Summary

Introduction

A pharmaceutical company called Wexel Hall sponsors a scientific expedition to Borneo, Indonesia, in search of a rare flower called the Blood Orchid (Pericordata). This orchid blooms only once every seven years and is believed to contain a compound that can prolong human life, potentially leading to breakthroughs in anti-aging drugs.

A team is assembled for the mission:

Dr. Jack Byron – ambitious expedition leader
Gordon Mitchell – company representative

Sam Rogers – expedition's jungle guide

Gail Stern and Cole Burris – scientists

Dr. Ben Douglas – field expert

Journey into the Jungle
