UP: Madrasa Operator Arrested for Raping Woman Teacher in Bareilly

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh — Police in Bareilly’s Fatehganj West area have arrested madrasa operator Zubair on charges of raping a woman teacher.

According to police, Zubair called the alim (religious) teacher to the madrasa on a holiday under the pretext of work. When she failed to return home, her family reached the madrasa and found her lying unconscious.

Locals, enraged by the incident, reportedly thrashed Zubair on the spot. A video of the public beating has since gone viral on social media.

The survivor was taken for medical examination, which confirmed rape. Based on the family’s complaint, police registered a case and arrested Zubair. He has been sent to jail. Further investigation is ongoing.
