Disney Took Down My Video

On YouTube, I posted a video detailing my very realistic and critical criticisms of this modern retelling of a Disney classic. I used a formula, as I do with all my videos of myself speaking with some background music and trailer clips in compliance with Fair Use Media policies found in the United States. In my review, I outlined my concerns with the emasculation of all the male characters. I discussed my disappointment with the reduction to the villains and the character assassinations of the remaining supporting cast. But most of all, I gave a very detailed overview that this film is the antithesis in moral value to the original 2002 animated masterpiece; that the choices to break up Lilo’s family in the conclusion are not the message that families and especially children should hear. Whereas the first film is about a found family coming together, this one ends with Nani leaving Hawaii to pursue a college education while turning over Lilo and Stitch to her neighbors through government intervention. This is a disgusting message, especially when you compare it to the very positive and very meaningful conclusion of the original film.

But Disney took my video down with claims that the visual elements were, in fact, the film Lilo and Stitch (2025) itself, as if I live-streamed it straight from the movie theater. They went as far as to provide timestamps for all the parts of my video that they believed were infringing on their copyright… and… wait… that’s me. They timestamped me. Does that mean I’m part of the movie? Am I canon to Lilo and Stitch? Am I a Disney Princess now? It’s not like they can say no. It’s Pride month.
