The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Part Twenty-One|"A Tower, A Giant, and A Storm"
The search for Ciri dragged me across rough waters to the Skellige Isles. Yennefer waited in comfort near Kaer Trolde while I got thrown overboard by pirates off the coast. Typical.
Washed ashore on An Skellig, I found a village caught in a storm that hadn’t stopped since a strange tower appeared. Figured I'd seek shelter—ended up trapped in a magical fortress with a drunk mage named Sigo Buntz. The tower had a mind of its own, thinking everyone but its owner was an intruder. Lucky for him, I’m not just anyone. After digging up an ancient grimoire, disabling arcane defenses, and freeing the mage, the storm lifted and the tower vanished. I was back in the bay, wet again.
But there’s no rest for witchers. Jarl Crach was worried—his son Hjalmar had vanished on Undvik, trying to prove he was fit to wear Skellige’s crown. The island was overrun by beasts, and a damn ice giant had made itself king. I tracked down Hjalmar, freed his crewmate Vigi, and together we brought down the beast. One less monster in the world, one more hero crowned.
The Path continues.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
Powered by the cutting-edge REDengine 3, the game was built with extensive fan feedback in mind. As always, player choices carry weight, shaping the narrative in significant and sometimes unexpected ways. This is not just a sequel. It’s a full evolution of the Witcher saga.
