While the narcissist loves getting "good supply" i.e. praise, validation, gratification. They will also take the arguing, going round and round. Because in their mind, any attention is good attention. Even you fighting with them, in THEIR mind, it shows "you care". They are constantly keeping you in a state of confusion, exhaustion, constantly having to explain yourself. Remember: narcissists are energy vampires. And if you are not actively giving them supply, they will take it from you. And that includes purposefully misunderstanding you.
