1Cor 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Four key words in this verse to look at

1. Flesh, cannot inherit God’s Kingdom

2. Blood, cannot inherit God’s Kingdom

3. Inherit, there is an inheritance available

4. Kingdom, God’s kingdom of righteousness and peace and joy

The requirements for the inheritance of the Kingdom must be met

Adam and Eve were created, not born

They sold out their creation

God made a way to buy us back

But man’s nature must be changed back

And his body made new to live forever

1Cor 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

The power of the resurrection

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

1Cor 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

1Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

In Christ we live

Resurrection power, the new creation born

Phil 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

1Pet 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1Pet 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

1Pet 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

By the resurrection of Jesus

The firstborn from the dead

1Cor 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

We have an inheritance in Christ

A new spirit or heart

And a new body that lives forever

1Cor 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Cor 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

1Cor 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Cor 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

1Cor 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

1Cor 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

1Cor 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

1Cor 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

1Cor 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Cor 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Jesus the firstborn from the dead

The firstfruit unto God

The last Adam

The Alpha and the Omega

Jesus is not nor ever was or will be created nor born

What scripture is referencing is the authority of the firstborn to the inheritance

Jesus has full right to the inheritance of God

Ps 89:19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

Ps 89:20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

Ps 89:21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

Ps 89:22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

Ps 89:23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

Ps 89:24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

Ps 89:25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

Ps 89:26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

Ps 89:27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

Ps 89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Ps 89:29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Ps 89:30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;

Ps 89:31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

Ps 89:32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Ps 89:33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

Ps 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Ps 89:35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

The firstborn has all the rights of the inheritance

Jacob with Reuben his firstborn

Gen 49:3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

When Jesus is referred to as the firstborn of God,

It is not referring to a physical birth as He alsways existed and was never born

There are 2 times Jesus was born

In the flesh from the Holy Spirit implanting the Word in Mary’s womb

Matt 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

And in the resurrection when He created the new spiritual body and arose as the firstborn from the dead of the new creation He now created

Jesus always existed and always will, do not be confused

Jesus is God

Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

He is the authority by which all things are and were created

He is the rightful inheritor of all God’s creation

We the church partake of his inheritance in Him

Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

The will of God revealed

Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

We are saved by grace through faith

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

We await the redemption of our new spiritual bodies

Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Rom 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Our job is to believe, He did the rest

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
