Gino Recchia NBC26 Storm Shield Weather Forecast
Our weekend started off on a dry and sunny note and that is going to continue over the next few days. High temperatures were between 5 to 10 degrees warmer this afternoon compared to Friday, which was the coldest day since last winter. Tonight, winds will be out of the west and southwest around 5 to 10 mph with temperatures dropping into the mid teens, some areas could get into the single digits if winds calm. Sunday is Packers Day with Atlanta coming to town. If you are heading to the game, you will need the sun glasses and the winter jacket. Temperatures will be around the mid to upper 20s around kickoff with winds out of the west and southwest around 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will be near freezing to start of the work week. Skies will be mostly sunny as well. It looks like we get into the mid 30s with another sunny day. There are some changes as we go into Wednesday. It looks like a weak disturbance will move in later on Wednesday with a rain and snow mix. Right now any snowfall accumulation will be limited to a dusting but if temperatures trend slightly cooler, snowfall accumulations could get up to 1 or 2 inches at the higher end of hte spectrum. Thursday through Saturday are going to be quiet days once again with temperatures in the mid and upper 30s.
