This was a lot like some neighborhood kids getting together to play some street soccer. In this case, the first team to score 2 points wins the match. Some of the horses are used to this game, and others may be playing for the first time. #MountedSoccer #The1836 #NechesTexas #AmericanHeartlands

The 1836 takes place during the celebration of Texas’s Independence every year at the Diamond B Ranch in Neches, Texas. There are multiple divisions of wagon races, a cowboy-style match race, pasture roping, barrel race, and a mounted shooting competition.
