The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Part Twenty|“No Place for Mercy”
They say Novigrad is a city of freedom. That under the eternal fire of the Church, all sins are cleansed and all debts paid. They lie.
It began the night of the cabaret's grand opening. The drinks were ready. The laughter was rehearsed. But Priscilla, the soul of the night, never arrived. A messenger came instead, reeking of hospital rot and dread telling me she’d been attacked. Left in blood and silence, barely breathing.
I followed the trail to Crippled Kate’s and found Sweet Nettie bound beneath the poker of a man who wore God’s robes and a butcher’s smile Reverend Nathaniel. But even a monster’s face can wear a mask. One conversation later, I put the true killer down: a twisted vampire hiding in the morgue, Hubert Rejk. It wasn’t a clean fight, but then again, justice never is.
Thought I’d get a breather after that. But this is Novigrad.
Dijkstra pulled me back in asking me to find a missing spy caught up in Nilfgaard’s shadows. One thing led to another, and suddenly I was neck-deep in politics, plotting assassinations, and watching sorcerers escape across the sea. The price of silence is always higher than you'd think.
I thought I’d earn some peace at the Gwent tournament. Wrong again. Between Sasha—alias Cantarella and a halfling thief, the cards on the table turned into daggers at my back. I chased the bastard through back alleys and burning warehouses, retrieved the stolen prize, and earned a night with a Nilfgaardian agent before she vanished like smoke on the wind.
It’s all in a day’s work, I suppose. But some stories leave marks even witchers can't ignore.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
Powered by the cutting-edge REDengine 3, the game was built with extensive fan feedback in mind. As always, player choices carry weight, shaping the narrative in significant and sometimes unexpected ways. This is not just a sequel. It’s a full evolution of the Witcher saga.
