2005 marked the third installment of Thrasher’s King of the Road, and by now, the chaos had become legendary. This year’s lineup featured heavy hitters: Zero, Habitat, Flip, and Element—each bringing their own flavor of destruction to the mix.

Zero, led by Jamie Thomas and Chris Cole, came in swinging with a no-holds-barred approach. Habitat, with Fred Gall and Silas Baxter-Neal, brought East Coast grit and creativity. Flip, featuring Geoff Rowley and Bastien Salabanzi, delivered high-speed hammers and technical wizardry. Element, with Mike Vallely and Tosh Townend, showcased raw power and style.

The KOTR book was more unhinged than ever—combining high-stakes skateboarding with absurd challenges that tested the teams' limits. From getting tattoos to breaking strangers' boards, the tasks were as wild as the tricks.

This edition solidified King of the Road as a rite of passage in skateboarding, pushing teams to their breaking points and capturing the raw essence of the skateboarding spirit.
