Use the Right Tool

Have you ever tried fixing a vehicle and you didn't have the right tool? But did you try to fix the vehicle anyway? I have done that.

I had a 1989 VW Golf, and I tried to do some DIY work on it to save some money. I started the job and got pretty far, but then I got to a spot where I got stuck. I tried every tool I had, and back then, I had quite a few tools, but nothing quite worked. Sometimes it seemed like I was making some progress, but it actually was a mirage and didn't last.

I finally did some research and saw that there was a specific tool I needed for that model of Golf. However, it wasn't inexpensive, and I could not use it for anything else but that particular purpose. So I didn't buy it, and I kept trying—bad idea.

Eventually, I gave in and bought the part. It worked perfectly. I would have saved myself a couple of days of aggravation, scraped knuckles, and pinched fingers if I had just "Use the Right Tool."
