Golden in My Mind

I walked past the old oak tree,
Where you once waited there for me.
The swing still sways, the wind still hums,
But now it's silence that softly comes.

You’re golden in my mind,
Frozen in a sweeter time.
Every laugh and every glance,
Still spinning in our faded dance.
Though the world has moved behind,
You're still golden in my mind.

The sidewalk knows our echo's sound,
Two shadows dancing on the ground.
I trace the path, the words we said,
Your memory lives where I tread.

You’re golden in my mind,
Frozen in a sweeter time.
Every laugh and every glance,
Still spinning in our faded dance.
Though the world has moved behind,
You're still golden in my mind.

Time can blur the sharpest days,
But love remembers anyway.
No photo fades, no story ends,
As long as I can feel you again.

You’re golden in my mind,
A light the years could never blind.
In dreams you walk right by my side,
Like you're still here, like you never died.
Though the world has moved behind,
You're still golden in my mind.
