Have you ever heard a liberal Christian tell you that Jesus was a socialist? Do you struggle to defend God’s view of economics? Do you lack biblical knowledge about such things and are you tempted to believe Jesus may have sided with Democrats when it comes to financial issues?
Well, today you’ve come to the right place, Pastor Glen Griffis is going lead us thru a biblical understanding of property, real estate, money, and how to prove the Bible does not condone things like communism or socialism. Will Glen say that … well, you better watch and see!!

Glenn Griffis was born and raised in Tampa Florida. Raised in a nominal Christian home he came to know Christ at the end of his Senior Year of High School in 1972. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida in 1977. While engaged in an evangelistic beach ministry during his college years the Lord used him to lead an inmate in a County Jail to Christ. That experience shaped his value and lead to his eventually going into ministry. He was in printing sales and graphic arts for 2 years after graduation then went to seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity Scholl. Glenn went on from there to serve at Evangelical Free Church in Battle Ground, WA, Stony Plain Alberta Canada, Everett, WA, and Vestal NY. He is married to Julie Rowell Griffis, who is Director of Operations for a firm that specializes in data migration. They have 3 children, Nathanael who is a public-school teacher, married with two children, Spencer, who serves in the US Marines and Derek who is currently with us in Martinsburg WV. My wife and I now live in Martinsburg WF
After spending a few years in business, I went back to school at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton Massachusetts and received a Doctor of Ministry degree which led to a Career in health care Chaplaincy. I worked for 8 years as a staff chaplain at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, and now in my retirement I serve as needed providing Chaplaincy care for Blue Ridge Hospice in Northern Virginia
I am deeply committed to expository preaching and to the sufficiency of Scripture. I am concerned that for many years Pastors were trained that expository preaching required them to be neutral on social issues. As our culture has become increasingly secularized many have been poorly equipped to address social issues people face. All spiritual truth has moral implications, and all moral acts are political. And that while congregants do not want to hear campaign speeches the gospel must help people frame apply their world view at the workplace and the ballot box.
Many evangelicals who have not thought through the implications of their political world views had adopted a collectivist view of society that is rooted in Marxism. They have incorrectly adopted a compromised understanding of the gospel and replaced the Great Commission with social justice causes. I believe a Biblical World view aligns more closely with a capitalistic and conservative world view and have a passion for helping the Christian understand that the Word of God is sufficient for all things from the kitchen table to the ballot box.
