The Ascension of Jesus

40 days after His resurrection, we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. It has been celebrated as early as apostolic times and always occurs on a Thursday, 40 days after Easter. Many areas transfer the date to the following Sunday so more people may celebrate this awesome event.

We celebrate Jesus’ Ascension for His glory and perfect unity of His divine and human natures, but also because of the hope it gives to all of us. We will one day share in His glorious resurrected and ascended life. Thank you, Jesus!!!
