Our Kids Mirror Us and It's Our Job To Guide Them

I posted another clip a few weeks ago from this podcast (The Rising Father Podcast Episode 118. ) where my son talked about how scary cell phones are in elementary school. Someone commented "he's just repeating what his parents say"

Good. That's the point. Our kids mirror us and it's our job to guide them. My kids aren't addicted to screens and love to workout...why? Because their parents believe those things.

If we were the sit at dinner table and stare at iPad family, the fast food family, then I'm sure my kids would be repeating those thoughts and behaviors as well.

Our job as parents is to live a life we WANT our kids to model. My kids both do Jiu jitsu, CrossFit, and workout with me every day. Modeling those behaviors is my responsibility as their father.

They are your mirror.
