They Use Comedies to Brainwash Us

A commonly used term for slipping persuasive or propagandistic content into an otherwise entertaining, lighthearted medium—like a comedy sketch or sitcom—is “covert persuasion.” More specifically, when humor or a laugh track is strategically employed to distract from critical thinking and create an agreeable emotional atmosphere, it can be viewed as a form of “comedic framing” or “comedic propaganda".

This technique leverages the psychological principle of the “peripheral route to persuasion", where individuals focus on emotional cues (such as laughter and group enjoyment) rather than analyzing logical arguments. As a result, the audience more readily accepts the implanted idea without fully scrutinizing its merits.

By sparking joy or group unity, the content bypasses the rational, skeptical mind and appeals to the social or “tribal” need for belonging, making people more susceptible to adopting the intended viewpoint.
