Minuet on the Name of Haydn

This short piece is a commissioned tribute to the pioneering composer Joseph Haydn. For the 100th anniversary of his death, the French organization "Revue musicale mensuelle de la Société Internationale de Musique" approached six composers, requesting a piece based off the 'musical equivalent of Haydn's name'. Maurice Ravel, who wrote this piece, used the pitches which represent the letters HAYDN to create a melody, which is restated and rephrased throughout the piece. Enjoy!
