Recorded first by the Ellington band in 1930, this piece was special for a few reasons. Most notably, the traditional voicing of the instruments used in the recording was changed, placing the trombone at the top with the melody, and the clarinet at the bottom. At the time, this was an entirely new style, and Ellington was praised for his take on the arrangement. Enjoy!
