Is It Always My Fault? | Who is Responsible for My Sufferings?

If somebody does something to hurt me and then I think, "Oh, It's all my fault only; why is it always my fault?" Because it's karma from something I did before I don't even know in a past life. How does karma theory work here? Who is responsible for my suffering?
