" 땅굴안보연합이 주관한 남침땅굴 위기해소를 위한 구국기도회가 오늘(2014년 11월 8일 토요일) 오후 서울역 광장에서 수 천명이 운집한 가운데 열렸다. 날씨는 오전에 약간 흐린 듯 했으나 곧 맑아졌고, 구국기도회 시작할 무렵에는 쾌청한 늦 가을 날씨였다. 남굴사 대표 김진철 목사님의 사자후 같은 열변이 끝난 후 사회자가 지병으로 인하여 이 집회에 참석 못하시는 대구의 이종창 신부님을 위한 기도를 부탁하고나서 땅굴 의병장 이창근 단장님을 소개하려는 순간 청중들 사이에서 환호가 일어나면서 '어 무지개다' 라고 외치는 한 남성의 탄성과 더불어 모든 이의 시선이 푸른 하늘 위의 무지개로 쏠린다. 무의식적으로 나의 디카도 청중들의 시선이 향하는 곳으로 향했다.
푸른 하늘에 떠 있는 무지개였다. 무지개는 보통 비 온 뒤에 나타나질 않는가? 그런데 오늘은 비도 오질 않았고 날씨도 쾌청했다. 그럼에도 무지개가 나타났다. 다시는 물로 지구 위의 인류 전체를 망하지 않게 하겠다는 언약의 표징으로 하나님께서는 그의 믿음으로 인하여 유일하게 살아 남은 노아(의 가족)에게 보이셨다. 수 많은 청중 집회도중에 그것도 맑은 날 서울역 상공에 나타는 이러한 무지개가 있었을까? 그것도 그 누구 보다 땅굴 굴진에 피땀을 흘렸던 이창근 단장이 단상에 서는 순간에 말이다. 이창근 단장의 마음과 그리고 땅굴로 인하여 대한민국 망하게 하지 말아달라고 애타게 울부짖는 자들의 마음을 위로하시면서, 하나님께서 '걱정 말아라, 너희들의 울부짖는 기도로 인하여 망해져 가는 대한민국을 결코 망하지 않게 하리라'는 구원의 언약 징표를 보여주시는 것이라고 그 순간 나는 믿을 수 밖에 없었다. 뭇 사람들의 탄성은 '하나님이 역사하시기 시작하셨네' 라는 소리들과 더불어 점점 커지기 시작했고, 마침내 어떤 이는 흐느끼기 시작했으며, 다른 이는 흐느끼는 이를 보고 마음 껏 울어라 라고 장단을 맞추었으며, 그리고 사회자도 ' 대한민국을 하나님이 지키십니다. 하나님이 역사하십니다' 라고 크게 외치기 시작했다.
물론 불신자들은 한갓 자연현상일 뿐인 것에 너무 지나친 의미를 부여한다고 조롱할 것이다. 나는 이런 자들에게 다음과 같이 묻고 싶다: 당신은 우리 조국 대한민국을 위해 울부짖으며 기도해 보신 적 있으십니까? 당신의 '신'(神)은 당신 자신 곧 인간이니 밖의 대상에게 기도해 본 적이 없다구요? 그러면 스스로를 믿겠군요. 좋습니다. 그러면 당신은 속으로 조국 대한민국을 위해 울먹여 보신 적이 있으십니까? "
