This new power bank from Rolosar, which I suspect is a generic rebrand, is attractively designed and although it offers nothing not available elsewhere is an attractive buy at the current Amazon price of just £16.99.

This budget-priced and compact-sized Power Bank is small enough at 1.7 x 14.4 x 6.97 cm to fit into a trouser pocket and weighing just 200g you would hardly know it was there but packs enough power to charge your phone several times over.

In the simple branded product box was the power bank itself, a short USB-A to micro-C charging cable,and a well designed and nicely printed User Guide. I enclose a scan of it in my video. The build quality seems fine and of decent quality.

The first thing that strikes you about this device is the elegant and upmarket appearance. It has a matt finish to the body with what appears to be a large screen on the front, which in fact proves to be a simple 3 character LED display. Coupled with the good build quality this gives the budget device the appearance of a high-end piece of kit.

Along the front face are the ports - two USB-A (5V/3A)output ports, a USB-C (5V/3A) input/output port and a micro-USB (5V/2A) input port. The ports are not grommett protected, so keep this device out of the rain. On the side is the only control, a soft touch multi-function button which powers the device off and on checks the battery status and initiates Trickle Charge Mode. There is no torch or other unneeded features, this is a power bank, plain and simple.

The smart ports will automatically deliver the maximum needed by the connected devices. The 10000mAh Lithium Polymer battery should provide the Samsung S23 with 2.0 charges, iPhone 15 with 2.1 charges, Air Pods Pro with 15 charges, and iPad Air with 1.0 charges. Using the PD 15W PD-Fast charge technology, it takes about one hour to charge an iPhone to around 80%. The power bank itself takes around 4 hours to charge from flat using the 3A USB-C port.

One interesting feature is does have is a Trickle Charge Mode. Long press the power button to initiate it and the right character on the screen will rotate to confirm the mode is engaged. In this mode, the power bank will deliver power optimised for small devices - headsets, fitness trackers, smartwatches etc designed to protect their small batteries.

The SmartProtect System will protect against over-current, over-voltage and over-charge. More importantly for travellers, the power bank is Airline Approved.

This is by no means the best nor most exciting power bank I have ever tried, but it is powerful for the compact size, well made and budget priced. If you need a simple no nonsense power bank for general use, this would be a decent enough buy.
