When Rebuke Becomes Regret: Thoughts on Fandom

You know the scene: Indy and his father are on the Zeppelin, on their way out of Berlin. Indy mentions the fact that they never talked while he was growing up, to which the elder Jones asks, "Do I detect a rebuke?"

Indy answers, "A regret."

And therein lies the state of things for a lot of us fans. We've moved past rebuke, past even apathy. And now... is there regret even in enjoying those things that came in the Before Times?
