Of Foreign Lands and Peoples

"Of Foreign Lands and Peoples" is the first of thirteen pieces which comprise Robert Shumann's "Kinderszenen". "Kinderszenen", written in 1838, is a delightful collection with a happy overtone throughout. As with many pieces composed by Shumann and other composers at that time, names for the pieces were not added until much after the composition, and even then only as a suggestion of the mood intended for the piece.
