For those who don’t know Francis Chan he was a mega church pastor and best selling author with books like Crazy Love. Francis Chan was at the top of the Christian world with fame, success and money when one day he decided to give it all up. Francis sold everything including his house and took his family on the mission field in the third world. He then returned to America to start a network of house churches. Francis Chan doesn’t do many interviews in recent times so this one caught my attention right away. Francis Chan sits down with Lecrae to a podcast interview. Lecrae asks Francis why he decided to walk away from being a mega church Pastor. You are going to want to hear Francis Chan's answer to the question. The answer he gives point to many important issues we must address in contemporary churches. Francis Chan believe house churches are the future of the church. Not all mega churches are bad because that would mean believing the bias that church are good or bad based on size. But i believe smaller churches give us a greater opportunity to love people and have genuine community and gives us a place where all people can use their spiritual gifts. The light blub went off for Francis Chan when he realized God has given every believer supernatural gits and he didn't see a way for everyone to exercise their spiritual gifts in a large church setting. So Francis Chan walked away from his mega church and launched into the house church movement. He claims that he is in a place of perfect peace as a result.
