A mob of 1,000 people lay waste to downtown Los Angeles Saturday night.

They blocked and vandalized trains, spray-painted LAPD patrol vehicles, assaulted police officers, and even threw a bottle at an officer, sending them to the hospital.

Several businesses were also vandalized, and illegal fireworks were also set off during the mayhem.

“This type of behavior is completely unacceptable,” LA Mayor Karen Bass said.

Mayor Bass also vowed to work closely with the City Attorney and the District Attorney to hold those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.
