EHR Goes Autocrossing in the C4: Liberty Takes Her Vette To The Track Part 1.

Liberty finally isn't working weekends and she wanted to go Auto Crossing for her birthday. So we did. This was her first time racing her Vette and the first time anyone in our family went Auto Crossing. We are drag racer types, so.... Anyway, we headed over to the monthly track meet hosted by Highlands Sports Car Club (www.hscc.club) in Franklin, NC to have a go at it. She etched in and we walked the track and got tips from the experienced drivers. She had the chance to make 8 passes, but at the start of her 5th pass the check engine light came on. She still pushed the car, but it weighed heavy in her mind and she got out of the groove a bit and ran a couple seconds slower than her 4th and best pass. Turned out it wasn't anything bad, a random misfire. By the time we cleared it out they were on to the next group of racers so she had to skip out on the last 3 passes. She still had fun and has yet to find the limits of her Vette. We met a bunch of good people and enjoyed the day. She may try it again when she gets a new set of tires. Next, we hit the 2 lane blacktop.
